Oakes Dairy features a unique ‘hands-on’ work model for their raw goat milk herdshare in Mount Vernon. To hold a share, members participate in the care of the goats 1-2 days per month rather than paying a traditional cash boarding fee. This model ensures that members ‘know their farmer’ and fully understand how their milk is produced and handled. The farm milks pasture-fed Lamancha goats and focuses on a holistic, disease-free environment.
